Booking 10

Will we be sharing the house with other guests?
No. The whole house is rented to one group per night. The sauna, the garden and the kitchen are yours alone for the length of your stay.
Can a small group stay here?
Yes. One or two people are welcome. The rate covers up to four guests, and additional guests are charged per person from the fifth guest onward.
Where can I book?
Through our official booking site (https://ton-nagano.airhost.co) or through booking sites such as Airbnb and Booking.com.
How far in advance can I book?
Up to one year ahead.
Is there a minimum stay?
You can book from 1 night. For long stays of 14 nights or more, contact us to discuss rates.
Is there a discount for consecutive nights?
Yes. 15% off for 2 nights or more, 20% off for 4 nights or more, and 25% off for 6 nights or more.
Can we stay long-term, or use the house for remote work?
Yes. There is a work room with a desk and power outlets, free Wi-Fi throughout the house, and a washer-dryer. The consecutive-night discounts above apply, and for stays of 14 nights or more please contact us about the rate. On weekdays (Monday to Thursday) there is also a day-use option without an overnight stay.
Can I book for the same day?
In principle, no. We do accept same-day bookings made by 12:00 noon, subject to availability.
Can I change the dates or the number of guests after booking?
Please make the change through the channel you booked with (our official booking site, or the booking site you used). If a change of dates amounts to a cancellation, the Cancellation Policy may apply. Changing the number of guests changes the rate, so please check that as well.
Are there any discount coupons?
Yes. We hand out coupons on our official LINE account — add us on LINE and we will send them to you. They can be used on bookings made through our official booking site.

Rates and payment 5

How much is one night?
Enter your dates and group size on the official booking site and it will show you the exact total. The house is charged as a whole, with an additional charge per guest from the fifth guest onward. Rates differ on weekdays, on Fridays and Saturdays, and over consecutive holidays, and stays of two nights or more receive a multi-night discount. Nagano Prefecture accommodation tax (¥200 per guest per night, with an exemption threshold) is already included in the rate.
What is included in the rate?
The basic accommodation charge, cleaning fee, bedding and towels, Wi-Fi, use of the house and its amenities (sauna, wood deck, kitchen, DJ booth, fire stand, etc.), and Nagano Prefecture accommodation tax. Only if you bring a pet, a pet fee (¥5,000 per pet) is charged separately.
How do I pay?
Payment is by credit card in advance. We do not accept bank transfers or cash on site. For bookings made through a booking site, payment is as specified by that site.
Is there an accommodation tax?
Yes. From June 1, 2026, Nagano Prefecture charges an accommodation tax of ¥200 per guest per night (this rate applies until May 31, 2029; ¥300 thereafter). We include it in the accommodation charge, so there is nothing to pay on site. The tax is not charged where the accommodation charge per person per night (room only, excluding consumption tax) is under ¥6,000. Guests who stay free of charge, such as infants aged 6 and under, are not taxed.
Can you issue a receipt?
Yes. After your stay, email us (contact@ton-nagano.com) with the name you would like on the receipt, and we will issue it as a PDF. For bookings made through a booking site, please use the statement or receipt issued by that site.

Day use 6

Can we use the house without staying the night (day use)?
Yes. Monday to Thursday (excluding public holidays), you can rent the whole house for 6 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. The rate is ¥22,000 for the house. You choose the start time, as long as you finish by 10:00 p.m. Day use is not available on a day when there is an overnight booking the night before or that night.
How do I book day use?
Send us a message on our official LINE account or by Instagram DM (@ton_nagano) with the date, start time and number of guests. We will check availability and reply. Day use cannot be booked on our official booking site or on other booking sites. We accept requests up to one month before the date.
What can we use during day use?
The sauna, kitchen, living rooms and wooden deck. Towels and coffee (TON Blend) are included. The bedrooms are not available.
How many people can come for day use?
Up to 8 people. For larger groups, please ask us. Children are not counted.
Can we extend day use?
Yes, at ¥5,000 per hour, up to 10:00 p.m.
How do payment and cancellation work for day use?
Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a payment link (credit card). Cancellation fees follow the same Cancellation Policy as overnight stays, and the same Terms of Use, Terms and Conditions of Accommodation and house rules apply. Discount coupons cannot be used for day use.

Check-in and check-out 4

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 3:00 p.m. Check-out: 11:00 a.m.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Depending on the bookings before and after your stay, we may be able to accommodate this. Sometimes we can do it free of charge, and sometimes there is an additional charge, so please ask us in advance.
How does check-in work?
Complete AirHost online check-in in advance (guest registration and identity verification by AI facial recognition). Once done, we will message you the code for the key box by the front door. Open the key box, unlock the door with the key inside, and let yourself in. There is no in-person check-in.
What if I arrive much later than planned?
Be sure to contact us in advance. If you do not arrive by the end of the day without notice, the booking is treated as a no-show.

Guests and visitors 7

How many people can stay?
Up to 12 guests.
Are there children’s rates? Do infants count toward the guest total?
Children’s rates depend on age: ages 7–12 are 60% of the adult rate, and ages 13 and over are charged as adults. Children aged 6 and under stay free as infants and are not counted in the guest total. This is how it works for bookings made through our official booking site. On other booking sites (Airbnb, Booking.com and so on), how children are counted and charged may differ, depending on each site’s own system.
Is the house suitable for families with small children?
Yes. You have the whole house to yourselves, with no other guests. The living room has tatami floors, the first-floor bedrooms have futons, and there are two children’s chairs. Children aged 6 and under are not counted and stay free. Children under 6 may not use the sauna, and children of elementary-school age and under must be accompanied by an adult in the sauna.
Can several families, or three generations, stay together?
Yes, up to 12 guests. There are four bedrooms: two on the first floor with futons and two on the second floor with semi-double beds, so each family or generation can have its own room. The rate is for the whole house, and children aged 6 and under are not counted.
Can we use the house for a company retreat or team offsite?
Yes. Up to 12 guests, with a dining room facing the rice fields, a work room with a desk, a projector with Google TV built in, and free Wi-Fi. There is no monitor or whiteboard. Receipts are issued as PDFs. On weekdays (Monday to Thursday) there is also a day-use option without an overnight stay.
Can friends visit during the day?
Yes, daytime visits are fine — including during long stays of 14 nights or more. If a visitor stays overnight, every guest must be registered and additional accommodation charges apply.
Do you have a crib or other equipment for small children?
We do not have cribs, bed guards or other dedicated child equipment. The futons on the first floor can be used for children. If there is something you need, ask us in advance.

Rooms and layout 4

Is there a floor plan?
Yes. There are floor plans of both floors on the house photos (HOUSE) page, with the bedding marked on them.
Which rooms do we sleep in?
Two bedrooms on the first floor (futons laid out on the tatami) and two bedrooms on the second floor (two semi-double beds each). The first floor also has two living rooms, a dining kitchen and a work room.
How big is the house?
The first floor is roughly 13.6m x 10.9m, with a smaller second floor above it — a wooden detached house. On the floor plan, the dashed line shows the outline of the building.
Do we share the house with other guests?
No. You have the whole house to yourselves. Nothing — the building, the garden, the wood deck, the sauna — is shared with another booking.

How many beds are there?

Yes, a Bluetooth speaker is provided. Connect from your own device. After 10:00 p.m., please keep the volume down out of consideration for the neighbors.
Are there insects?
The house stands alone among rice fields, so depending on the season, yes. There are window screens, and mosquito repellent and insecticide spray are provided. If you are sensitive to insects, bring your own repellent. Please note that we cannot compensate for harm caused by insects or wild animals (Accommodation Terms, Article 19).
Is there a washing machine?
Yes, a washer-dryer in the washroom. Detergent is provided.
Is there a hairdryer?
Yes — a ReFa hair dryer in the washroom. There is also a hair iron.
Is there heating and air conditioning?
There is air conditioning on both floors. In winter there is also a kerosene fan heater on the first floor (the second floor has air conditioning only). Please be sure to switch everything off when you leave.
What if the fan heater runs out of kerosene?
The first-floor kerosene fan heater is filled up before you arrive. If it runs out during your stay, refill it from the 20-liter kerosene tank in the entrance. Turn the heater off and wait until the flame is out before refilling.

How does the projector work?
It has Google TV built in, so please sign in to Netflix, YouTube and the like with your own account. Be sure to sign out before you leave — otherwise the next guests can get into your account.
Can we use the garden?
The front garden and the wood deck are yours to use freely. For safety reasons, please do not enter the garden at the rear of the building.
Can we use the wood deck in winter?
Yes. In winter the deck can freeze and get slippery, so please watch your footing.

Campfires and Fireworks 11

Can we have a campfire?
Yes. Use the fire stand provided, at the brick fire spot in the front garden (the artificial-turf area). Campfires are allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. — please have the fire out by 10:00 p.m. Please don’t light one in strong wind or during a thunderstorm. See the Fire and Open-Flame Rules for details.
Is there a charge for campfires?
No.
Is firewood provided?
No. Please bring your own firewood.
What campfire tools are there?
A fire stand, fire tongs and gloves are provided. Bring firelighters and any other tools you need.
Can we cook over the fire?
Yes. Please bring your own grill grate, skewers, pots and the like.
Can we have a BBQ (barbecue)?
Yes, free of charge. Put a grill grate over the fire stand in the front garden and grill over the fire. Please bring your own grate, charcoal or firewood, and food (there is no separate BBQ grill).
Can we move the fire stand?
Please do not move the fire stand off the bricks. The artificial turf melts from sparks and heat. Fires on the wood deck or on the artificial turf, and open fires on the ground, are not allowed.
Where is the water for putting the fire out?
Use the tap and hose in the garden. While the fire is going, make sure you can get water straight away.
Do we need to clean up after a campfire?
Once you have confirmed the fire is completely out (no steam, heat or glow), you can leave the embers and ash in the fire stand — we take care of them. Just never put hot embers or ash into a garbage bag or onto the artificial turf. Please put the fire tongs and gloves back where you found them.
Can we use the kitchen plates and cutlery outdoors?
Please don’t take the indoor tableware, cutlery or cookware outside. If you want to eat outdoors, please bring paper plates and the like.
Can we set off fireworks?
Hand-held fireworks only, and only in the front garden (not on the artificial turf) — please do not set them off on the wood deck. Soak used fireworks in water until they are completely out (there is a tap in the garden). Rockets and aerial fireworks are prohibited. No fireworks after 10:00 p.m.

Garbage and departure 5

What do we do with the garbage?
You don’t need to take it home. Sort it into the sorting boxes in the kitchen. We handle the collection and disposal — all we ask is that you sort it. You do not need to put anything out on a collection day.
What about food scraps?
Put them in the sink-corner basket and just leave it as it is. There is no need to bag them. Please don’t put them in the burnable waste.
We’ve run out of bin bags.
There are spare bags directly under the sink. The sink-corner basket is in the same place.
Where do we leave a full bin bag?
Tie it off and leave it inside the entrance, where the shoes are.
What should we do before we leave?
(1) Wash the dishes and put them back. (2) Sort the garbage into the boxes in the kitchen (tie off full bags and leave them inside the entrance). (3) Switch off the air conditioning, lights and heating, sign out of the projector, and check the sauna is off if you used it. (4) Lock the windows and the front door. (5) Put the key in the key box, lock it, and drop it in the post box by the front door. You do not need to let us know you have left.

Access and parking 11

How far is it from the nearest expressway exit?
About 2 minutes by car from Saku-Usuda IC on the Chubu-Odan Expressway. The interchange is in Yuhara, Saku City — the same address as the house — so you are almost there as soon as you leave the expressway.
How long does it take from Tokyo?
About 2 hours 30 minutes by car (the nearest expressway exit is Saku-Usuda IC on the Chubu-Odan Expressway, about 2 minutes from the house). By train, it is about 1 hour from Tokyo Station to Sakudaira Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, then about 20 minutes by car.
How far is it from Karuizawa?
About 40 minutes by car. By train, take the Hokuriku Shinkansen one stop from Karuizawa Station to Sakudaira Station; the house is about 20 minutes by car from there.
How far is it from Komoro, Ueda and the Yatsugatake area?
By car: about 30 minutes from Komoro, 45 minutes from Ueda, 30 minutes from Yachiho Highland, 40 minutes from Nobeyama and 50 minutes from Kiyosato. Driving times to the surrounding towns are listed in our area guide (in Japanese).
Can we drive there in winter?
The main roads are cleared of snow, but the roads around the house can freeze in the morning and evening. From roughly December to March, winter (studless) tyres are required.
Do we need winter tyres?
Yes, they are required. From roughly December to March, please come in a car fitted with winter (studless) tyres. If you rent a car, choose one with winter tyres.
How much snow is there?
Not much. Snow settles a few times a year, about 15 cm each time. Even without snow the roads freeze in the morning and evening, so winter tyres are required.
What is the nearest station or airport?
The nearest station is Sakudaira Station (Hokuriku Shinkansen and Koumi Line), about 20 minutes away by car. If you come by train, we recommend renting a car at Sakudaira Station.
Is there a shuttle from the station?
No, we do not offer transfers. Please come by car or rental car.
Is there parking?
There is space for up to four cars on the property, free of charge. Please fill the spaces in order: the garage (2 cars) → the concrete slab in front of the garage (1 car) → the slope in front of the entrance (1 car). The road in front is a residential street used by our neighbours, so parking on the road is not permitted. If you genuinely cannot fit on the property, contact us before you park. See Parking for the illustrated version.
Can we park a large vehicle (Toyota HiAce, camper van, etc.)?
The garage fits vehicles up to about the size of a Mitsubishi Delica (4.8 m × 1.8 m × 1.9 m). Larger vehicles such as a HiAce do not fit in the garage, so they go on the concrete slab in front of the garage or the slope in front of the entrance. Parking on the road is not permitted. If you are coming in something particularly large, such as a camper van, contact us in advance.

Yes — but small pets only: up to 10 kg each, and no more than two (any species). For the permitted areas, leash rules, additional cleaning and other details, see the Pet Policy.
Can we smoke?
The building is entirely non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outdoors only (on the wood deck and in the front garden). This applies to all cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products. No ashtrays are provided, so bring a portable ashtray and make sure everything is completely extinguished. If smoking indoors is discovered, a special cleaning fee of ¥50,000 will be charged.
Can we use the house for a shoot or an event?
Photos to remember your stay and photography for personal social media are absolutely fine. Commercial use, location shoots and events with larger numbers of people require prior consultation and approval.
How do I cancel?

What if something goes wrong during our stay?
Email us at contact@ton-nagano.com. In an emergency (fire or medical), call 119 first, then let us know.
What if I leave something behind?
Contact us at contact@ton-nagano.com. We keep lost items for 1 month and ship them cash-on-delivery if found. Items unclaimed after that period will be disposed of.
What if we break something during our stay?
Report it to us promptly at contact@ton-nagano.com. For minor accidental damage, an honest report does not necessarily mean we will charge the full amount. However, for damage discovered after departure that went unreported, we may charge repair and replacement costs, special cleaning fees and other restoration costs, as well as business interruption compensation for the period the equipment cannot be used. Before charging anything we will always email you the details, the amount and the supporting materials, and allow 7 days for you to object. See Article 10 of the Terms of Use for details.
Are there quiet hours?
The house stands alone among rice fields, so during the day there is not much to worry about. But between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., please keep the volume down both outdoors and indoors. There are neighbors living nearby.
Where are the fire extinguishers?
In three places: the second-floor hallway, the kitchen and the sauna anteroom. Evacuation route maps are also posted in the house.
Do you have a hotel business licence?
Yes. We are licensed by the Saku Public Health Center of Nagano Prefecture, licence no. 08佐保第11-24号.
Do you take a security deposit on my credit card?
No, we do not take a deposit, and we do not place authorization holds beyond the amount needed to settle your accommodation charges. Your card details are handled by our payment service provider and are not stored by us. If costs arise for damage or special cleaning, we will email you the details, the amount and the supporting materials (photographs, estimates) and allow 7 days for you to object before charging the registered card under Article 18 of the Accommodation Terms. For bookings made through a third-party booking site, the rules of that site apply.
